Blandine

One day at the Maison-Lafitte Castle , I saw an exhibition dedicated to Alfred le Dreux, the famous French Horse painter.  There were 4 paintings comically representing the steeple-chase...it was love at first sight.   It was then that I decided to paint parodies of the elegant thoroughbreds and jockeys....

I began in 2002 with a "quadriptique" called "Comic Steeple", which was exhibited that same year at the prestigious "Salon International de Samur", which specializes in Equestrian Arts.  I like to paint caricatures of the famous classical painters such as Stubbs, Gericault, Delacroix, and Rosa Bonheur, with the elegant horses and riders transformed into beast of burden and farmers.  I appreciate curves and bright colors, and the result is funny and audacious.
